South Africa vs India, 1st T20I: Match abandoned due to rain

The first T20I between South Africa and India at Kingsmead, Durban was been called off due to rain today.

Match Analysis

The inaugural T20 International clash between Suryakumar Yadav's India and Aiden Markram's South Africa at Durban's Kingsmead encountered an unfortunate halt due to persistent rain in the host city on Sunday. The downpour was so intense that even the coin toss couldn't take place, leaving the teams and fans disappointed.

Both squads are set to regroup on Tuesday for the second T20I at St George's Park, Gqeberha. As the 2024 T20 World Cup looms in the West Indies and the USA, India is poised to experiment with different player combinations during this bilateral series. With only this series and a subsequent three-match T20I series against Afghanistan in January on their pre-World Cup agenda, the Indian team has a mere six matches to fine-tune their strategies and finalise the playing XI for the upcoming T20 extravaganza.
