In a sensational finish Kolkata Knight Riders claimed a three wicket win over Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad off the final ball on Sunday in the Indian Premier League.

After opting to bat Gujarat posted 204 for four in their 20 overs and in their response Kolkata chased the score down to finish on 207 for seven in 20 overs.

Earlier, Gujarat started off well as their openers Wriddhiman Saha and Shubman Gill added 33. Then Gill added 67 runs for the second wicket with Sai Sudharsan. Gill made 39 off 31 balls. Sudharsan made 53 off 38 balls with three boundaries and two sixes. Then, Vijay Shankar took charge of the innings. Shankar made an unbeaten 63 off just 24 balls with four boundaries and five sixes. In the end Gujarat finished on 204 for four in their 20 overs. For Kolkata the best bowler was Sunil Narine (3-33).

In their response Kolkata lost their top-order cheaply. Venkatesh Iyer (coming in as an impact player) shared a brilliant stand of 100 runs for the third wicket with skipper Nitish Rana. Iyer made 83 off 40 balls with eight boundaries and five sixes. Rana made 45 off 29 balls with four boundaries and three sixes. Gujarat's stand-in captain Rashid Khan claimed a hat-trick as Andre Russell, Narine and Shardul Thakur were dismissed. Towards the end Rinku Singh dazzled with the bat. Off the last over Kolkata needed 28 off six balls. Rinku struck five sixes off five balls in the last over off Yash Dayal to seal a famous Kolkata win. Kolkata finished on 207 for seven in their 20 overs. For Gujarat the best bowlers were Rashid (3-37) and Alzarri Joseph (2-27).
