Jaiswal stars as Rajasthan zoom to the top

Rajasthan Royals snapped their two match losing streak as they beat Chennai Super Kings by 32 runs at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 season on Thursday night.

After opting to bat, Rajasthan posted 202 for five in their 20 overs and in their response Chennai finished on 170 for six in their 20 overs.

Earlier, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jos Buttler added 86 for the first wicket. Jaiswal finished on 77 off 43 balls with eight boundaries and four sixes. Jaiswal then added 39 runs for the second wicket with Sanju Samson. Then, Dhruv Jurel teamed up with Devdutt Padikkal to add 48 runs for the fifth wicket. In the end Rajasthan finished on 202 for five in their 20 overs. For Chennai the most successful bowler was Tushar Deshpande (2-42).

In their response Chennai openers Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway added 42 for the first wicket. Then Chennai innings slipped from 69 for one to 73 for four. Gaikwad ended on 47 off 29 balls with five boundaries and a six. Then Shivam Dube added 51 runs for the fifth wicket with Moeen Ali. Dube put on 46 runs for the sixth wicket with Ravindra Jadeja. Dube finished on 52 off 33 balls with two boundaries and four sixes. For Rajasthan the best bowlers were Adam Zampa (3-22) and Ravichandran Ashwin (2-35).
