Rajasthan Royals continued their fine run as they beat Delhi Capitals by 57 runs in their Indian Premier League clash at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati on Saturday.
Asked to bat, Rajasthan finished on 199 for four in their 20 overs and in their response Delhi finished on 142 for nine in their 20 overs.
Rajasthan began well with their openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jos Buttler gave them a rollicking start. Buttler and Jaiswal put on 98 in just 8.3 overs. Buttler finished on 79 off 51 balls with 11 boundaries and one six. Jaiswal made 60 off just 31 balls with 11 boundaries and a six. Then there was bit of a lull. Simron Hetmyer and Buttler put on 49 runs for the fourth wicket. Rajasthan finished on 199 for four in their 20 overs. For Delhi the best bowler was Mukesh Kumar (2-36).
In their response, Delhi lost their top-order cheaply. Skipper David Warner held the innings together but it was not enough. Warner added 64 runs for the fourth wicket with Lalit Yadav. But soon there was a collapse as they kept losing wickets at regular intervals. The match was over as a contest and Warner kept fighting a losing battle. Warner finished on 65 off 55 balls with seven boundaries. Delhi in the end finished on 142 for nine in their 20 overs. For Rajasthan the best bowlers were Trent Boult (3-29), Yuzvendra Chahal (3-27) and Ravichandran Ashwin (2-25).
