After opting to bat, Delhi posted 130 for eight in their 20 overs and in their response Gujarat finished on 125 for six in their 20 overs.
Earlier, Delhi lost their top-order cheaply. They were reduced to 23 for five with none of the top-order making any worthwhile contribution. Then a 50 run stand for the sixth wicket between Axar Patel and Aman Khan revived the innings. Patel amde 27 off 30 balls with two boundaries and a six. Khan then proceeded to add 53 runs for the seventh wicket with Ripal Patel. Khan finished on 51 off 44 balls with three boundaries and three sixes. Patel finished on 23 off 13 balls. In the end Delhi finished on 130 for eight in their 20 overs. For Gujarat the best bowlers were Mohammed Shami (4-11) and Mohit Sharma (2-33).
In their response Gujarat also lost their top-order cheaply. They were reduced to 32 for four in 6.4 overs. Then skipper Hardik Pandya added 62 runs for the fifth wicket with Abhinav Manohar. But Manohar fell with the score on 94. Then Pandya added 28 runs for the sixth wicket with Rahul Tewatia to get close to the target. Tewatia struck three sixes in three balls off Anrich Nortje, but that was not enough. Gujarat finished on 125 for six in their 20 overs. For Delhi the best bowlers were Khaleel Ahmed (2-24) and Ishant Sharma (2-23).
