Chennai Super Kings (CSK) won their second consecutive game in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. On Tuesday at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai the home team defeated Gujarat Titans by 63 runs.

Asked to bat, Chennai posted a massive total of 206 for six and then restricted Gujarat to 143 for eight. 

Rachin Ravindra (46:21b, 6x4, 3x6) and Ruturaj Gaikwad (46:36b, 5x4, 1x6) came out all guns blazing and took Chennai off to a brutal start. The 62-run opening partnership was followed by a brutal innings by Shivam Dube.

The southpaw scored 51 runs off 43 balls with the help of two fours and five sixes. Daryl Mitchell (24 not out:20b, 2x4) and Sameer Rizvi made useful contributions as Chennai ended with 206 for six. For Gujarat, Rashid Khan picked his wickets. 

In the chase, Gujarat lost Shubman Gill early. But Wriddhiman Saha (21:17b, 4x4) at the other end played aggressively.

Impact player Sai Sudharsan (37:31b, 3x4) tried to hold one end up even as wickets kept falling at the other end. David Miller (21:16b 3x4) and Azmatullah Omarzai tried to get going but it didn’t matter much as Gujarat kept losing wickets at regular intervals.

Chennai restricted Gujarat to a total of 143 for eight and won the game by 63 runs.
