Elena Rybakina won her first title of the year and first WTA 1000 trophy on Sunday at the BNP Paribas Open.

The first event of the Sunshine Double was won by No. Rybakina, ranked 10, who defeated No. In a rematch of this year's Australian Open championship match, No. 2 seed Aryna Sabalenka defeated her opponent 6-4, 7-6(11).

Rybakina won the WTA singles championship for the fourth time in her career. She won it for the first time last summer, when she won her first Grand Slam singles title at Wimbledon.
