Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) are back to their winning ways in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Kolkata defeated Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) by eight wickets at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Sunday.

Match Analysis

Asked to bat, Lucknow posted a total of 161 for seven, in response Kolkata chased the target comfortably with over four overs to spare. 

Lucknow didn’t have a great start to their innings as they lost Quinton de Kock and Deepak Hooda early. Skipper KL Rahul (39:27b, 3x4, 2x6) and Ayush Badoni (29:27b, 2x4, 1x6) brought the team back into the game but couldn’t carry on.

Nicholas Pooran (45:32b, 2x4, 4x6) did what he does best and made sure that his team ended with a competitive total as Lucknow ended with 161 for seven. 

Kolkata too had a horrible start to their innings as they lost Sunil Narine and Anglkrish Raghuvanshi early. But Phil Salt and skipper Shreyas Iyer made sure that they chased the target comfortably.

Salt-Iyer partnership added 120 runs and took the team home with eight wickets in hand.
