Match Report

At Bengaluru's M Chinnaswamy Stadium, India sealed the final game to win the series 4-1.

Asked to bat, India posted 160 for eight in their 20 overs and in their response Australia finished on 154 for eight in their 20 overs.

India's batting was struggling at 55 for four. It required vice-captain Shreyas Iyer's 53 off 37 balls with five boundaries and two sixes to rebuild the innings. Iyer added 42 runs for the fifth wicket with Jitesh Sharma to revive the innings. Towards the end Axar Patel played a good hand as he made 31 off 21 balls. India finished on 160 for eight in their 20 overs. For Australia the best bowlers were Jason Behrendorff (2-38) and Ben Dwarshius (2-30).

In their response Australia kept losing at regular intervals. There was a 47 run fourth wicket stand between Ben McDermott (54: 36b, 5x6) and Tim David which revived the chase. Then there was a middle-order collapse which threatened to derail the chase. Skipper Matthew Wade tried to use the long handle to good effect, but it was not enough. In the end Australia finished on 154 for eight in their 20 overs. For India the best bowlers were Mikesh Kumar (3-32), Ravi Bishnoi (2-29) and Arshdeep Singh (2-40).
